See, they really do like to crawl into tight
openings!
Tippy crawled into this coozie and got herself
stuck in there! Sparky's laughing at her, ha ha ha
Tippy's stuck in the coozie!!!
♥♥♥ Sam the Albino & Charlie  are Best Buddies ♥♥♥
These guys have always been good friends since they met here, Sam came
then Charlie came about 3 months later. Sam or Sammy, is about 6 months or
so older Charlie "Bear" and I think Sam showed him the "Ropes".
Charlie and Sam let Rocky join in the wrestling fun (below).
Sparky, He's Blocking the entrance to the "expressway" to
the Litter Box (above).
Nickie on the left, and Jamie on the right, just about
to fall asleep.
Nickie & Jamie above, Nickie & Rocky below, wrestle. Nickie lost most of her color and is now
almost all white! She was the most beautiful Silver you ever saw, we sure loved her baby color.
Little Bitty Lucy here got those "Fruit Loops" out of the box to count them, and she did it so
fast I didn't know what happened!   This is Little Joe after he'd been here a while, can't say
he hasn't been eatin' good!

4 Pictures, (above left) Me holding Little Joe (above right) Jamie, she wasn't feeling so
well that day (Right) Rocky appears to be "posing" for this picture (Left) group picture,
from left to right& near to far: Jamie, Sam, Nickie, Rocky, Tippy, Lucy Charlie, Lil Bit.
Then, In the hammock is Sparky, (you can only see his "weight" making it sag a bit.)
This
was their first cage built in the top bunk, Now we also have 2 Ferret Nation Cages,
donated along with ferrets we rescued.
The two small pictures (above) are Charlie when he
first came to live with the gang and wanted to hang
out with his new human more than the other ferrets,
then he met Sam! They quickly became best friends.
Most of the ferrets we have came to us as babies,
mostly from people who didn't know what they were
getting into when they brought home a ferret! There
are rules that a ferret lays down when he comes into
your home...  ...What's theirs is theirs, and what's
yours is up for grabs! They like socks, with or without
feet, and shoes too, but the feet get in the way.
Everything inside the shoe must be removed, NO
EXCEPTIONS (even if it's glued in)! Ferrets are
"nosey" (if you look at them sideways, the nose
protrudes about 1/2" past everything else) they have
to know what's in, under and behind everything. They
delight in outsmarting their humans. Our newest baby,
Curi loves to play "monster", the hand usually catches
her before she makes her escape, but SOMETIMES
she gets away. She comes right back to play some
more because, "she won that round", and the game's
not over until she wins. If you quit, she wins! You
can't possibly win, because it's their rules! What's a
trash to one ferret is treasure to another, and
likewise with you. Ferrets have differing personalities
just like and as varied as humans. Most ferrets are
"dumpster divers", they love to dig through your
trash, but not all. Speaking of digging, forget about
house plants, they will dig all the dirt out! (And many
are poisonous, so be careful, and see our poisonous
plants page!) Ferrets are wonderful, I can't imagine
life without a ferret around, but that's me and I'm
not like everybody, (by far!). I'm in a small class
called ferret fanciers, Patient and Persevering...

Ferrets can be very destructive. This was a small hole when this little 1 lb 2 oz
ferret was accidentally left out, unattended for only an hour!  This is where great
patience & slow to anger would be helpful if this were an expensive piece. They like
to dig, even your couch! This is not a couch, but if someone came in and didn't
"notice" that hole and sat down, Rocky could be hurt very badly, even killed!
Seriously though, they love to be under things, so you have to be careful where you
sit and how you sit. Don't just "plop" yourself down, (this is mostly for the children).

This young man took, probably the best care of his ferrets of anyone we've
EVER rescued from, his 2 boys were the picture of GREAT health! The economy
the way it, is has caused him to take a second job and he was unable to care for
them the way they were used to, so he let us take them so they could have the
kind of life they deserve. The only thing I wish he'd done different is to teach
them not to bite, I did it in only 2 days, and they no longer bite us, but still
think, they think it may be acceptable to bite other humans. This is okay as no
ferrets are adopted out of our facility. They have adapted to the new
surroundings and are getting along with everyone, well except our 2 "domain
protectors" who welcome no one else so they have different play times, not a
problem so far. Their names are Jinx and Pez, and we have kept their names since
they seem to know who they are. WE usually ask if the person we rescue/adopt
from would like to give a donation, but this man offered to give to our org. even
though he gave with them a cage/house that is worth over $300.00, not to
mention all the other items he gave along with them. Thumbs up to you for taking
such great care of your two boys, and thank you for giving us a chance to care
for them!
This young lady is someone who's life changed and
went in different directions after she owned Clifford
& Ginger for around 3 years. Her and her mom
decided that they might be better off with us since
they were unable to let them "come out and play" as
often as they would like to get them out and play with
them. Thank you for giving us the chance to induct
them into our group of ferrets whom we've
rescued/adopted over the years. They get along very
well with everybody, except Nicki and Joe, our
domain protectors, who are just doing what they think
they're supposed to do, protect their home from
intruders. They have their playtime with the other 7
who were here before they were adopted and allowed
to become a part of the family, they just don't want
to return the favor.
The people above this text are the folks who donated the cages with their ferrets, (2-L/6-R)
